It’s been an exciting week that started with the launch of IALS Consulting! The amount of well wishes from folks has been very much appreciated.
I’d like to take a little bit of time to introduce the business and focus areas. IALS stands for Improvement and Lean Services… and yes, it also includes my initials (some of you spotted that). This business idea came to me through years of observation that small to mid-size businesses who were in the growth mode needed to establish the baseline of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement to sustain and continue the growth gains. However, the smaller size of the business precluded folks from being able to have their own organization. Here’s where IALS Consulting comes in… hands-on guidance to help businesses grow.
The logo shows a sun and moon shining… some of my best moments for inspiration come from watching the sun or moon rise over the ocean. When you are in the midst of pondering through an issue and it seems dark, the light can come shining through. Hence the catch phrase “Shining the light on opportunities to create value for your company”. This also is a mindset as well for Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement… teams should celebrate finding the key issues (instead of sweeping them under the rug to hide them) as that is the first important step in making things better. Having this mindset is key to changing the organizational culture so that these programs can succeed.
